Nana's birthday fun!

Nana had a birthday last week and it was a really happy one! I have decided to just embrace birthdays instead of dreading them (I am all for looking as young as possible too, though! Which reminds me- don't you think Grandmas are getting younger and younger looking every day? hehe)
Hubs and I decided to drive to Orlando (75 miles)and stay overnight and spend my birthday just hanging out in Orlando- no, no theme parks this time- there is still a lot to do over there. When we got there we decided to have dinner at a trusted spot that we love- Chilis! Can't go wrong there! We stayed at Ramada Inn- well a former Ramada Inn- it had changed hands- and I got a good price at hotels.com . The next morning we had our coffee- which, sorry, we have to bring our own because we don't trust away from home coffee too much! So spoiled! I had brought a few breakfasty things, so we just kinda snacked through breakfast and we headed to the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe Roman Catholic Church. When I looked it up online, I discovered that before the Basilica was built, Masses were held at different hotels and even at Disney World for the travelers! Isn't that awesome!

This is Hubs looking at the memorial wall.

The birthday girl- 40-12 or 30-22?

Lots of prayer candles!

Then on to shopping (right next door, actually!)

Then we had lunch at Fuddruckers- yum! And it had been raining the whole weekend and was still sprinkling and Hubs said, "so what do you want to do? It is raining." I said, "I still want to go to Downtown Disney." I don't think he was too happy, but he took me! It stopped raining shortly after we got there and he got a new hat to add to his collection and we sat and had a nice cup (yes, nice) of coffee.

This is Buzz and Woody made out of Legos (Legos and Toy Story have a special place in this Mama/Nana's heart- Baby Boy (BB) loved them both when he was little and so does JR now- yes, I cried at Toy Story 3)
The birthday girls- Lil Mama's birthday is 3 days before mine.
The grand boys!
Grampy (Mr. Nana) and SJ.

We had our own cakes!
It was a great birthday!

Let's see if the picture loader is working better?

Hi Everyone! Nana hasn't posted for awhile because she was getting a little annoyed with the picture uploader thingy here on Blogger. It was taking forever to get pictures on my blog. Without pictures, what is the point, right? Well, I am on on the hubs' new computer, so let us see if that works better. (update: it didn't load any faster, so can someone tell me what to do?)
My tablescape is a cheater one this week (actually, I have had this up since right after Easter), it is the no dish look. I am going to try and be better about posting, but like I said I was having trouble. (I also forgot to take a black and white one, which I started doing with my new camera- oh, well, if I remember next week before I tear it down, I will get one!)

I love the look of the flowers, fake or not!

As always, have a great Tablescape Thursday! Thank you, Susan for all the fun at Between Naps on the Porch

(If anyone can help me with the picture uploader, let me know!)

Where have I been?

Nana has been pretty busy keeping up with the kids and grandkids! Here are some pics:

This is little JR at our fav lunch spot (Chick Fil-A).

Here we are at the condo that our daughter and son in law were visiting: JR sat in my lap for the longest time. (at least 5 minutes, but that is good in JR time!)

Drinking his juice- love his stanz!

 Little Mama and JR.

Uncle B with the boys!
Here JR is golfing on the beach!

We are just missing my 2 son in laws in this one (they joined us later).
Nana with JR and our new grandson SJ is in the background.
 SJ playing with shells.

Been having a great time just being Nana!

Loving my Easter Table!

Hello Blogland!

I have really been enjoying my Easter table! I did it last week, but was delayed in getting the pictures taken~ (Sigh). Anyway, I get tickled every time I walk by my table (does anyone else get a little crazy looking at their tablescapes? Come on, I know you do!!!!!!!) I found most of cute little Easter stuff at thrift stores (the Easter tree, the runner, the egg candles and of course most ALL of my taper candles I get for less than .25)

This is a little Easter craft that I did with my sister, Tammy, the Domestic Diva- a little nest in an apothecary jar! So cute and easy- we had all the supplies on hand, so it was basically a freebie! (She also gave me the beautiful candle rings and the awesome soup tureen- gotta love having a sister who loves thrift stores as much as you do! I try and do my part- I also bought her a matching Easter runner like the one below ;~)  )

My (new) traditional black and white.

I have had a lot of fun with the Easter cutesy things, but I truly hope that you all have a Blessed, Holy Easter in celebrating Christ's resurrection! Praise Be to God!
As always, be sure and visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch, who hosts our fun Tablescaping adventures every week! Thanks, Susan!

Blessings to you,
