We catered a wedding! and some misc

Several years ago, I somehow got into catering weddings. I was the kitchen manager at my old church and did quite a few. Then when I converted to Catholicism, I still did a few weddings (including my own wedding (convalidation)!) and food for different occasions. So about a year ago, a friend of mine contacted me more to pick my brain then to see if I would be interested in catering her daughter's wedding. That year went by so fast! So, about 4 weeks ago, my husband, daughter and son- in- law catered the wedding. We had a great time! It was a lot of hard work, but a good time as well. My whole mission in catering, is to offer good food at a good price- to try and save the couple/their parents some money and make a little extra cash as well. I don't do any real foo foo food, just regular food everyone will eat- attractively displayed. My son in law enjoyed it so much, that he and my daughter want to do more! (I would like to mention too, that I don't know what I would have done without my husband helping us- he kinda volunteered to come and I just thought- "sure come, hang out with us" but he helped A LOT! He started washing the dishes and Amy dubbed him "Wash Boy". He never stopped- it was great. The "Fab Four" fed over 200 people- we amazed ourselves!!!

Misc
My sister had a little housewarming party last week, so I made her some fall napkins for her dining room table (she keeps it set up) and I decided to "surprise" her with some of my near famous homemade cleaning wipes! I kept a couple of plastic containers with lids from work- they are perfect for half a roll of Bounty! I made them with Odo Ban- love the stuff! With the other half- I made myself a batch! It was the best batch yet!

Scrapbooking and good furniture deals...
Finally! I have sat down on quite a few occasions to scrapbook- I am so behind! Got a beautiful huge desk from the Salvation Army for $15 and it is perfect for scrapbooking! It is so fun! Along with the desk, we also found a glass table with 4 chairs to replace our big old table- $100 and also got a table and chairs for our daughter's new place- $100, the desk $15, a Rattan flowered couch for our Florida room $40 and a chair $50- what great deals!!! Our local Salvation Army has the best furniture- we have found so much good stuff there!

Well, that is about it for now. Do something nice for someone today!
