March for LIfe!

Last night I was watching EWTN's coverage of the annual March for Life (on the Mall in DC). I have wanted to go for many years now, but unfortunately, have not been able to. However, I do want to thank all those many thousands who have given the unborn a voice. I applaud those who went in the freezing cold weather and stood with their signs speaking for the unborn and letting our abortion pushing White House occupant know that just because abortion is legal, doesn't make it right. As Catholics (and other faiths as well),we understand that life begins at conception.(Because when else would it begin?) When we come to understand this and embrace LIFE as God would have us, when we look in another person's face and (try to) see Jesus-that is when we realize there is no "it's my body" argument. We are created in the likeness of God. That is heavy stuff people! God, yes God! created US! Many thousands and thousands of women, finding themselves in an "unplanned" pregnancy have been fooled by the devil into thinking abortion is no big deal. Many teenagers are afraid to tell their parents of a pregnancy, many that do tell are made to end it. I saw one sign that said something to the effect of "Men regret the loss of Fatherhood"- men, too, have learned the hard way that agreeing to, or coercing their partner to have an abortion, isn't very loving, or manly and above all it is very heartbreaking for all concerned. All too late is the lesson learned that "waiting until marriage" is God's plan for us for our good!!! In a perfect world, this lesson is easy, but here in the 21st Century, we want to do what we want to do without thought of what may happen. I pray, O Lord, change hearts- make saving our babies paramount! Praise Be to God!
